A man arrested by mistake for the disappearance of five-year-old Shaniya Davis is very angry about what happened.
Fayetteville police arrested Clarence Coe, but then released him when the case pointed to another suspect.
Mario McNeill is now in custody for kidnapping.
Police say he confessed to the crime and that he was seen on a surveillance camera with the little girl.
Officers initially arrested Coe when a witness told police Coe took Shaniya out of her home at a trailer park Tuesday morning.
That is the day she disappeared.
Coe says he was at the home, but did not kidnap her.
"I’m the boyfriend of the mother. See the news didn't ever want to tell that. I had been staying...every night for a whole month I was there," Coe said.
Besides his anger about the arrest, Coe says he's more upset that Shaniya Davis hasn't been found.
Neighbors are now concerned about talking to investigators about the case over fears they might be falsely accused.
