Former Greenville City Councilman Craft to spend year and a day in jail

A former Greenville City Council member will spend a year and a day in jail for falling to report income from his business between 2001 and 2004.

A former Greenville City Council member will spend a year and a day in jail for falling to report income from his business between 2001 and 2004.

New Bern U.S. District Court judge Louise Flanagan ordered former Greenville City Councilman Charles Craft to spend time in federal prison for tax evasion.

Yesterday as part of the deal, Craft paid restitution of 192 thousand dollars.

By law, Craft is allowed to surrender himself to federal prison and it has to be there by January 15th, 2009.
