There are some new and disturbing developments in the case of a missing 5-year-old girl in North Carolina.
Police say the mother of Shaniya Davis, Antoinette Davis, has been charged with human trafficking, and child abuse involving prostitution.
Officers will continue their search for Shaniya off highway 87 between Spring Lake and Sanford.
Shaniya hasn't been seen since Tuesday, when a surveillance camera recorded the man charged in her kidnapping, carrying her into a hotel room.
The search for Shaniya resumed Monday morning.
Shaniya's mother is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning as well.
