The crew of Space Shuttle Atlantis is on its way to do some heavy lifting.
The six astronauts took off from the Kennedy Space Center Monday afternoon. They're carrying more than 13 tons of spare and refurbished parts to the international space station. The parts will help astronauts repair the space station if anything breaks.
NASA said it's critical to get large parts to the space station now, because the shuttle will be retired in a year and only those large parts can fit inside it.
