About a thousand Marines and Sailors are back home with family and friends this morning.
The families waited for hours for members of the 8th Marine Regiment to arrive at Camp Lejeune yesterday.
They returned from a nine month deployment to Afghanistan.
The group operated in Helmand Province. They saw some of the most intense fighting in the country this year.
