The plan to help traffic moved a little easier through Greenville is a step closer.

After months of hearings and proposals a steering committee selected a plan for the 10th Street connector.

The plan is designed to ease traffic flow between ECU and Pitt Memorial Hospital.

City Engineer David Brown says the project will affect 30 homes and about 24 businesses.

Some business owners already oppose the 32 million dollar project.

"I know sometimes you have to do things to benefit the community and maybe this is one of those things--that I'm not necessarily happy with," says Climmon Jefferson, Al's Barbershop.

The state has offered to buy-out affected businesses or pay for moving.

Acquisitions would begin in 2011 and construction should get started by 2013.
