Major money is headed to community colleges in the east to help meet the needs of the aerospace industry.
Golden Leaf Foundation awarded more than four million dollars to community colleges for the Work in Aerospace Manufacturing initiative.
Lenoir Community College received 380 thousand dollars, Wayne Community College was awarded 550 thousand dollars, and Craven Community College Foundation received 735 thousand dollars.
The funds will go toward training, buying equipment and teaching tools.
