A late U.S. senator is being remembered through picture and portrait.

Artist Ren Dickerson unveiled his portrait of the late Jesse Helms in Washington D.C. Wednesday.

The North Carolina senator was best known for his fight against civil rights.

The portrait will hang in the Eisenhower Room of the Capitol Hill Club.

Helms passed away in July, 2008.
