A bright meteor in the night sky provided many Utah residents with a rare treat early Wednesday morning (11/18). The University of Utah's new Willard L. Eccles Observatory cameras caught the meteor as it flew by and exploded.

The university says the Bolide meteor was probably a straggler from Tuesday's (11/17) Leonid meteor shower.

There were reports of the meteor being seen in Idaho, Nevada and California.
