LOS ANGELES (AP) - No more Beatles bargains for two Web sites. A federal judge in Los Angeles has ruled that a pair of sites that sold Beatles songs for 25 cents apiece should stay shut down. U.S. District Judge John F. Walter's injunction effectively shutters BlueBeat.com and Basebeat.com. The sites' right to issue the cut-rate Beatles songs had been challenged by music company EMI Group, which claimed the sites were selling high-quality versions of copyrighted songs, such as the Beatles stuff, which have never been legally released in digital form. The companies claim the songs in question were re-recorded with a technique that improves their quality.
