Greenville Police tell Nine On Your Side that they're investigating an assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
It happened around 4 a.m. Friday morning.
That's when officers responded to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where a stabbing victim walked into the hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the victim was stabbed in the lower abdomen during an assault. The victim told officers that the assault happened on University Suites Drive.
No suspect description is available at this time.
