Goldsboro Police tell Nine On Your Side that they've arrested 24 year old Ronald Everette Smith in the death of infant Diamond Nicole Smith.
Authorities say they've charged Smith with one count of murder.
Autopsy results show Diamond Nicole Smith cause of death as abusive head injury. She was brought into Wayne Memorial Hospital with fractured ribs and unexplained bleeding on the brain. She was later airlifted to PCMH where she later died.
Smith, Diamond's father, is in the Wayne County Jail under no bond.
