The search is on for three men who jumped another man and sent him to the hospital.
Kinston Police say it happened just before noon on East Shine Street.
When police got there, they found a man bleeding from a head wound.
Witnesses say the three men approached the victim. When he tried to run, they hit him in the head with the gun.
The victim was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
