Puppies Seized from Alleged Puppy Mill

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Nearly 200 dogs are looking for new homes after authorities busted what they called a puppy mill in the east. Wilson County officials took the 180 dogs from their home this weekend, saying the breeder wasn't taking care of them. When the breeder found out they were coming for her, she moved several of the dogs around the state. Officials are still trying to find those missing dogs; the others were sent to shelters across the state.

"The animals that we saw here on Saturday were in horrible condition. Ear infections, mouth infections, bad teeth, skin infections. You could tell these dogs had not been taken care of in the way that you are supposed to take care of dogs," Mondy Lamb, SPCA of Wake County spokesperson said.

Wilson County officials say they plan to charge the woman with animal cruelty charges this week. They won't release the breeder's name or the location and name of her business.
