Our state's two U.S. Senators are teaming up to get answers about the toxic tap water at Camp Lejeune.

Senators Kay Hagan and Richard Burr met this week with the government agencies charged with completing studies on water contamination on base.

A federal report released in june indicated that people who lived and worked in the area from the 1950's to 1985 were exposed to two dangerous chemicals.

However, it said there's no straight forward connection between the contaminants and different illnesses.

Hagan and Burr believe the remaining human health and water modeling studies are necessary to determine if people got sick due to water contamination.
