Ten eligible bachelors and bachelorettes from eastern North Carolina put themselves out there to support the troops overseas.
They went to the highest bidder during the USO of Jacksonville's first "Un-Valentine's Day" auction.
All ten men and women are current and former members of the military.
Bidders put up their money for a date with one of the veterans.
The money raised will be used to buy care packages for the troops overseas.
Nine On Your Side's Arthur Mondale who served in Iraq in 2003, is an Air Force veteran who wound up on the auction block as well.
"It's not about how much money you raise, because one dollar that we raise tonight is more than I had ten minutes before that,” said NC USO Director John Falkenbury. “It is about taking care of our men and women in uniform."
The USO also hosted a veteran's charity golf tournament this weekend for the same cause.
Both events raised more than $55,000 combined.
