RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A new report from a board investigating more than three dozen flights North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue took on supporter provided private airplanes shows her staff kept detailed records on the trips. The Raleigh News & Observer reported Sunday that the governor's election staff turned over the flight spreadsheet to an investigator, who amended her report to the State Board of Elections, the agency investigating the trips. The information could contradict Perdue blaming the failure to report 41 campaign flights on poor record keeping by her staff. But campaign spokesman Marc Farinella told the newspaper Saturday that staffers just did a lousy job tracking flights. The elections board will review the amended report at a meeting Tuesday in Asheville.
