GREENVILLE, N.C. - Santa's busy schedule had him going high-tech to make some children at the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf got to speak and sign with the jolly man in the red suit over the internet.
The Telemedicine Unit at ECU's Brody School of Medicine provided the technology.
The deaf and special need students got their gifts from Santa's helpers while Santa watched on the other end of the line.
"It really matters to them. The magic for a deaf child of seeing themselves on tv never goes away," said Dr. Bob Hoyer, ECU Pediatrician.
ECU's medical school has been running this program since 1996.
28 children took part today.
