New Bern Police say they've arrested a man for stealing a 2006 white Chevrolet Trailblazer.
It happened on Westover Lane.
Authorities say the owner of the car started the Trailblazer to warm it due to the cold weather. When she returned outside, the owner found the car missing.
On Star helped police nab 26 year old Shade Devon Hall when they pointed authorities in the direction he was travelling. Craven County Sheriff's deputies pulled in over at a McDonald's and gas station near Williams road.
It took 10 minutes from the time the car was reported stolen to make the arrest.
Hall is charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Larceny, Driving with a Revoked License and Resist/Obstruct and Delay.
He's in the Craven County jail under a $15,000 bond.
New Bern Police remind all citizens to exercise caution when starting vehicles and leaving them running while unattended. You should never leave your car unlocked, especially with keys in the ignition. Always lock vehicles even when they are in garages or driveways, and do not leave valuable items inside vehicles.
