Sheriff, & Police assist ICE agents in removal of illegal aliens

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office says their deputies along with Newport Police officers assisted ICE with locating and taking two federal fugitives into custody.

It happened January 26th.

Ehab Mohammed Ahmed Ghareeb and Bassem Fangary are both in the country illegaly. Ghareeb is the co-owner of Every Day Italian Restaurant in Newport, while Fangary is employed there.

Detectives also arrested Francisco Mondragon Limon. He was taken into custody after misusing the 911 system, calling several times and refusing to provide an address or reason for calling. He was taken to the Carteret County Jail until he was released to ICE agents.

“Our Deputies, the Newport Police and the ICE agents all worked together as a team in locating and removing these individuals from Carteret County” said Sheriff Asa Buck.
