78 churches across the state gathered for the 127th Episcopal Diocese Convention in New Bern.
It's an annual gathering that focuses on ministry and international ministry.
Topics focused on establishing a stronger relationship with the Dominican Republic and Haiti, through more mission work and rebuilding.
Churches also set up a variety of concessions and vending tables to raise money for other countries like Honduras and parts of Africa.
Director, film maker and author Katrina Browne was a guest speaker at the convention.
Browne held a discussion forum on her family film, Traces of the Trade, which investigates the impact of slavery on our society.
