Onslow County deputies filed child abuse charges against a man they say beat his infant child so badly that the baby needed to be hospitalized.
Deputies arrested Brandon Gravitt on Friday for felony child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a child younger than 12.
Investigators took the case after the child's mother took the baby to the hospital with several injuries.
Deputies say Gravitt admitted hitting the child several times.
His bond was set at $125,500.
He is due in court Monday morning.
