An argument between a husband and wife turned violent and the husband ended up in urgent care.
Onslow county deputies say the Sneads Ferry couple had been arguing late into the night on Saturday.
They say at around 2:30 Sunday morning the husband had a shotgun and threatened the wife with it, but she grabbed a handgun and shot him in the abdomen.
The husband is in intensive care at New Hanover Regional Hospital
No charges have been filed.
