The Boy Scout motto is be prepared, but who knows if they had the foresight to think they would last 100 years?

As part of today's 100-year birthday event, Governor Bev Perdue honored the organzation in Raleigh.

The Boy Scout movement began in England back in 1907.

The concept was so popular that within three years it had spread to the United States and more than a dozen other countries.
