Girlfriend charged in stabbing of Scotland Neck man

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office has charged a Scotland Neck man following a stabbing.

It happened late Sunday night at a home off Bynum's Bridge Road.

Authorities say they found 43 year old Ernest Norfleet with a stab wound to the left side. Norfleet reported his girlfriend had stabbed him.

Investigiation into the incident revealed the pair had been involved in a physical altercation that led to the stabbing.

31 year old Sharon Parker is charged with Assault with a Deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She's in the Halifax County Jail under a $50,000.00 bond.

Norfleet is recovering from his injuries at PCMH.
