Marines and Sailors with the 24th MEU have left Haiti, following two weeks of relief efforts in the earthquake devastated country.
The 24th MEU turned over control to the 22nd MEU over the weekend.
Troops with the 22nd MEU will continue to provide medical support and supplies to areas surrounding Port-au-Prince.
Since Military relief efforts began last month, nearly 80,000 gallons of water, a million pounds of food, and around 15,000 pounds of medical supplies have been delivered throughout the country.
According to reports, the 24th MEU and its Navy ships are headed to the Middle East. The unit was set to leave Camp Lejeune last month on a routine seven-month deployment before receiving orders to Haiti.
