Election season kicked off across the state today.
Starting today, if you want to run for public office you can file the paper-work with the State Board of Elections.
At the local level, Democrats in Pitt County can also file with the Pitt County Board of Elections today.
Primary elections are set to kick off on May 4th.
One of the most high profile races in our state this year will be the battle for Senator Richard Burr's senate seat.
