RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina prosecutor who helped send a man to prison for a murder he says he didn't commit questioned him again, this time in front of a three-judge panel that could secure his release.
Wake County District Attorney Tom Ford asked 47-year-old Greg Taylor on Tuesday if he recalled being told that his aggressive nature and temper meant he wouldn't withstand questioning from Ford at his original trial.
Taylor said he didn't recall such a conversation.
The judges are hearing the case at the recommendation of the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission, which said it found enough evidence to warrant a review. Another man confessed to the crime, but that wasn't mentioned.
Instead, attorney Joe Cheshire attacked the physical evidence and the credibility of two witnesses who testified against Taylor.
