New Bern Police say they've charged two people they believe are responsible for a string of car break-ins with additional charges.
They arrested Samantha Dale Jones and Andrew Phillip Newton on numerous breaking and entering charges in January 2010.
Authorities say the break-ins happened over a two month span of time, starting in December 2009. They took Jones and Newton into custody after the pair were spotted attempting to break into cars at a Craven County School System building on Highway 55 in late January.
The new charges against Jones include Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Felony Conspiracy, Financial Card Theft, Larceny, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Forgery and Uttering.
Newton is looking at charges that include two additional counts of Felony Conspiracy and Possession of Stolen Property.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities believe the pair may face further charges.
The pair have been charged in 14 total cases so far, but police expect even more charges as the investigation continues.
