Students in our state's public schools hoping to go to college are getting high marks.
More kids are taking and passing Advanced Placement exams.
A college board study shows the Tarheel state is one of 16 where students scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam that exceed the national average.
Nearly a third took one of the Advanced Placement exams in 2009 and more than 17 percent got a least a 3.
Also, more low income, African American and Hispanic students took and succeeded at the exams as well.
