NEW YORK (AP) - Google isn't letting up in its effort to win government approval of their deal to gain the digital rights to millions of books. It has filed paperwork in court defending the settlement it has already reached with American authors and publishers. The Justice Department has raised objections to the deal - but Google has responded to those concerns in its latest filing. Back in November, Google tweaked the original deal in an effort to win the Justice Department's approval. But as recently as last week, the legal arm of the U.S. government repeated its opposition to the agreement. A hearing on the issue is set for next week.
