The Department of Defense is taking a close look at the whistleblower case at Camp Lejeune.
Dr. Kernan Manion complained about how marines were treated for PTSD at Lejeune. The Navy later fired him. Documents show that Manion's favorable employee evaluations were changed to unsatisfactory after they fired him.
After hearing about the case, Congressman Walter B. Jones demanded a new investigation, separate from a Navy probe. Jones says he doesn't want the Defense Department to merely review the navy's findings.
