The U.S. Senate has passed a 15 billion dollar jobs bill with help from a few Republicans.
The bill passed by a vote of 70 to 28.
The 15 billion dollar Senate bill is much smaller than the 174 billion dollar bill passed through the House in December.
The House may simply adopt the Senate bill to get the win and try to get more help down the road and Democratic senator Kay Hagan who voted for the bill says it is "a first step in the right direction for our business owners and hardworking North Carolina families."
Hagan says small businesses make up 98 percent of "private sector employers" and they need the bill.
