Beaufort Police charge 2 with trafficking cocaine

Beaufort Police say they've ended a month long narcotics investigation with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Department whice resulted in the arrest of 2 suspects and the seizure of 4 ounces cocaine.

41 year old Sean Gilchrist and 37 year old Crystal Jane Williams are both charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep Drugs.

Authorities say they executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence on Sunset Lane in Beaufort, where they found the cocaine. They also conducted a vehicle stop and found Gilchrist in possession of 18 grams of cocaine in addition to $1,100 in cash.

Both Gilchrist and Williams are in the Carteret County Jail.

Gilchrist's bond is set at $103,000 while Williams' bond is set at $100,000.

They're set for a first court appearance today.
