FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman charged with stabbing her daughter to death has been transferred from the Army hospital at Fort Bragg to a North Carolina county jail.
The Fayetteville Observer reported Saturday that 50-year-old Linda Hough Shannon of Bethune, S.C., had surgery to repair knife wounds. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says Shannon was injured in a knife fight Monday with her daughter, 32-year-old Autumn Michelle Shannon.
The active duty soldier was found with multiple stab wounds and a large knife in her neck when military police arrived at her home at Fort Bragg.
Court documents say Linda Shannon was staying with her daughter while the younger woman recovered from a car accident.
Jail records do not say whether Shannon has an attorney.
