When temperatures fall below freezing, your home requires extra care to keep everything up and running.
For example, make sure your pipes are insulated. Cold temperatures can cause exposed pipes to burst.
Also, check your furnace to make sure it's running smoothly and replace the filters.
And consider switching to a programmable thermostat.
Check your windows and doors. Use weather stripping to make sure cold air doesn't get in through any of the cracks.

If yiou haven't weather stripped your doors, do as mom used to do. Use a rolled up heavy beach towel under the doors to the outside to cut the draft.

Of course turn the thermostat down a couple of degrees and wear a sweater.
Run paddle fans clockwise to circulate warm air.
Close curtains and shades at night to help keep out the cold out.
