Police say they caught the gunman responsible for shooting a 14-year-old last week.
Rocky Mount police arrested 16-year-old Markelius Chambers.
Detectives charged him with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
They say he got out of a car and shot the 14-year-old in the chest and leg.
A second 15-year-old suspect turned himself in on the same charges
Chambers is being held the Edgecombe County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - Police are trying to find the people who shot at two North Carolina teenagers, wounding one of them.
WRAL-TV reported Sunday that a 14-year-old told Rocky Mount boy told police that two men got out of a dark vehicle and shot at him around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The boy told police he and 18-year-old Cortez Sykes were running down the street when he realized he had been shot.
Police said the 14-year-old was shot in the chest and right leg. Sykes was not injured.
The 14-year-old was in stable condition at a hospital Sunday. Authorities are still investigating.
