Educators, state leaders in Rocky Mount talking job growth

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - More than 100 educators and state leaders were in Rocky Mount today to talk about how to bring more jobs to the area.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - More than 100 educators and state leaders were in Rocky Mount today to talk about how to bring more jobs to the area.

Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton visited the Brown Auditorium along with 20 members of the jobs commission to listen to the people.

The commission has the task of working with the State Board of Education and the General Assembly to better prepare students for the workforce.

Edgecombe County has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 16.6 percent.
