A program in the east is working to build positive relationships between local law enforcement and area kids.
The GRIP program (Gang, Resistance, Intervention and prevention) is launching its 5th year with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.
The program partners with a slew of other organizations to reach kids in rural communities and show them the dangers of joining gangs.
Today grip was at Farmville Middle School where kids learned about bully prevention, conflict resolution and fire safety.
Grip is a four week program held at four different locations across the east.
They'll be having their season finale coming up July 31st.
