Pitt County road closes for the summer

     GREENVILLE, N.C. -- A road in Pitt county will be closed until November.

     Parts of Portertown Road in Pitt County will be closed because of a bridge replacement, starting on Monday at 7:00 a.m.

     Drivers should expect detours if they are trying to get to Portertown Road from either Fire Tower Road or State Road 33.

     Traffic from Fire Tower Road will be detoured onto L.T. Hardee Road, then onto Eastern Pines Road and then back onto Portertown Road.

     Traffis from N.C. 33 will be detoured onto Eastern Pines Road, then onto L.T. Hardee Road, then back onto Portertown Road.

     The road will be open again on November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
