GREENVILLE, N.C.- It's the 100th anniversary of Father's Day today and the tradition of honoring Dad is still going strong.
The first Father's Day was held in June 1910 in Spokane, Washington when a girl named Sonora Dodd wanted to celebrate her father who single-handedly took care of her and her four brothers.
Today, 100 years later, kids of all ages still appreciate Pop for everything he does.
"He's pretty much been there the whole time and he's like I call him my dad he's basically my dad he's taught me everything from hunting to driving to and so he's just like a special person that's come into our lives and you know I don't really look at him as my step dad he's just my dad,” said 16-year-old Cassie Fuller of her step father.
Father's Day became a national holiday in 1972 when President Richard Nixon signed it into law.
