The Lt. Governor of North Carolina paid a visit to the east to talk about investing in young children before they head to school.
Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton met with more than 200 people today at the "Smart Investing" summit.
He talked about how important it is to put time and effort into early education development and health programs for infants to five years old.
"We are helping children to perform better in our future economy. There are many studies that show that the investment in early childhood development is one of the best investments you can make. It will have a return anywhere from two times to seventeen times," said Walter Dalton, NC Lieutenant Governor.
