Children across the nation will celebrate the joys of reading today.
The National Education Association's “Read Across America” program inspires children in every community to pick up their favorite book.
Here in North Carolina, Governor Bev Perdue will read to a Kindergarten class at Millbrook Elementary in Raleigh.
“Read Across America” is an annual reading event that began on March 2, 1998, which is the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
