SELMA, N.C. (AP) - A mother and her child have been found dead in an apartment fire in North Carolina.

SELMA, N.C. (AP) - A mother and her child have been found dead in an apartment fire in North Carolina.
Multiple media outlets reported the fire was reported about 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Redwood Village Apartments in Selma, southeast of Raleigh.
Fire Chief Phillip McDaniel says the fire was contained to a single apartment. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
The victims' names have not been released.
The Red Cross is assisting eight residents who were also affected by the fire
