It comes around every 10 years, and its here again, census time.
In Onslow County though, a misunderstanding could cause the city to lose millions of dollars.
It stems from Marines and their legal residence.
If they are overseas and fill out their census form from there, their home state will get the credit, and thats not always the state they are stationed in.
Some also think that filling out your form will change your legal residence.
It wont and Onslow County has paired with other agencys to get that message out.
County officials say the best thing to do is to try and understand the census and how filling it out will effect more people than just you.
