GREENVILLE, N.C. - Goldsboro Police have made a arrest in a double homicide at America’s Best Value Inn on U.S. Highway 70 Bypass East in Goldsboro.
Back in December 2009, investigators found two dead bodies inside room 108. The victims have been identified as 65-year-old Suryakant Patel and his wife, 61-year-old Bhavanaben. The Patel’s were employees at the hotel and they lived in room 108.
Now, authorities say they've arrested 28 year old James Carnell Howard, who is currently incarcerated at Neuse Correctional Institute. Howard was arrested in January for outstanding felony warrants and has remained in continual custody since. Previously, he was incarcerated after pleading guilty to a DWI charge.
Howard was also charged with one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Felon in connection with the murders of Mr. and Mrs. Patel.
He's in the Wayne County Jail under no bond pending a first appearance.
