GREENVILLE, N.C. - Goldsboro Police have charged a 62 year old former teacher with statutory sexual offense and taking indencent liberties with a minor.

It allegedly happened in August 1992, when Richard Allen Pate of Goldsboro was still a teacher at Eastern Wayne Middle School.

Authorties say a report filed on February 26th, alleges Pate sexually assaulted a juvenile at his residence. That victim was not a student of Eastern Wayne Middle School.

Pate is in the Wayne County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
