Hope you put on your green today before heading out the door to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day!

WNCT's staff wore theirs.

But did you know that green hasn't always been the color for the holiday? It used to be blue.

Nine On Your Side did some research and asked you to send us your fun facts about Saint Patrick's Day.

Rick Etters responded to our message on Facebook and said "Saint Patrick wasn't Irish".

He's right, Saint Patrick was actually born in Great Britain.

Other interesting facts:

34 million Americans have Irish ancestry.

Corned beef and cabbage is the traditional Saint Patrick's Day meal.

And in the Guiness Book Of World Records, the highest number of leaves on a clover? 14!

And it's not too late to send us your fun facts, just leave them on our Facebook page.
