Onslow county is growing by leaps and bounds and when more parents move into the area kids come right along with them.
So when it comes to child care in Jacksonville, the nest is full.
And with waiting lists sometimes up to a year this, baby bump, creates a real headache for parents.
The problem has doubled over the past three years, and now more than 4,000 children in Onslow County cannot be placed in child care facilities.
Part of the problem is that there aren’t enough centers.
It also stems from the amount of workers. North Carolina has strict laws when it comes to how child care workers are educated.
So people, who move to the state with experience from a different state, aren’t always qualified here.
It creates a dilemma for child care facilities and parents alike.
