It was a chance e-mail that got a big time response.
Now Marines in Afghanistan will have some new video game equipment and they have one Marines mom to thank for it.
It all started because of an email from Polyanna Hass to Best Buy.
Her son is stationed in Afghanistan and she hoped that they could donate some used equipment to his troop, never thinking she would get a response.
But she did, from Best Buys CEO.
When word got to Ryan Copeland at the Best Buy in Jacksonville he was glad to help.
“It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day to day operations. The community is where i like to spend the most time,” he says, “Because not only does it make you feel good but i believe its what im supposed to be doing.”
He donated 1500 dollars worth of gaming equipment, everything from Wii's to PS3's.
Now the plan is to get these Marines connected with other marines in Afghanistan, via internet gaming.
Wagner hopes this can calm some of the fears marines here have about being deployed.
Best buy is considering taking the program to USO’S nation wide.
